The best thing to do is complete one campaign and then farm. If you are smart about it most of the core skills can be learned this way. If you are having issues the best way I found to gain the skills is to farm, and then buy tome's. I can't keep up now. I have 97 points to use, and now I am forced to complete quests and missions for GW:EN, and NF. So you can balance it out, it just takes time. 300G +1 is much less expensive than 1P +1. It might not seem like it but wait until you have 100 skills. 50P at 500 per or 30P at 300per vs. 100P at 1P per. I'm not rich nor poor in game, but having an extra 60 or so P means 15K armor, or 5 to 6 Elite skills. Hope some of this helps.
